For “whoever does an atom’s weight of good will see it.” (Surah Al-Zalzalah 99:7)
Starving and weak, Yusuf held his last date—his only food in two days.
Just as he was about to eat, he noticed a frail boy nearby, eyes hollow with hunger.
Yusuf hesitated… then gently placed the date in the boy’s hands.
“Eat,” he said.
The boy wept as he tasted it. Hunger still gripped Yusuf, but peace settled in his heart.
That night, he lay under the stars, whispering a quiet prayer.
Morning came with the warm voice of the village baker.
“Yusuf, wake up.”
He pressed a piece of fresh bread into his hands.
“I… I have no money,” Yusuf murmured.
The baker smiled.
“The boy’s mother told me what you did. She asked me to give you this.”
Tears welled up as Yusuf took a bite. The warmth filled more than just his belly—it healed something deeper. Word of his kindness spread. Small jobs followed—nothing grand, but enough to keep him fed. All because, at his lowest, Yusuf chose to give.
