  • Muslim Communities Across Texas Prepare for Eid al-Fitr Celebrations on March 30

Texas is gearing up for vibrant Eid al-Fitr celebrations on Sunday, March 30, 2025, as Muslim communities across the state come together to mark the end of Ramadan. With special prayers, festive bazaars, and community events planned, this year’s celebrations promise to be both spiritually enriching and socially engaging.

Ramadan Events Leading Up to Eid

As Ramadan begins and Eid approaches, the Dallas-Fort Worth area will host a series of events from Feb. 28 through March 29 that bring together tradition and festivities. Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, is observed by Muslims worldwide as a time for fasting, prayer, reflection, and community.

One of the highlights is the Grand Ramadan Bazaar in Plano, which will offer shopping, dining, and entertainment opportunities. More than 60 vendors from Pakistan and the Indian subcontinent will showcase clothing, home décor, and unique gifts. Visitors can enjoy iftar treats such as chai, breads, cheeses, and fresh vegetables. Entertainment will include storytime sessions, music, workshops, and interactive activities for both children and adults. The event will take place at Crystal Banquet Hall and is expected to attract a diverse crowd.

Eid Namaz Gatherings Across Texas

In Richardson, the Islamic Association of North Texas (IANT) Masjid will hold multiple Eid prayer sessions to accommodate the large number of worshippers. The schedule includes:

  • 7:30 AM: Led by Sheikh Yousef Bakeer
  • 9:00 AM: Led by Dr. Asif Hirani
  • 10:30 AM: Led by Sheikh Mikaeel Smith

All three prayers will also be streamed live on IANT’s official YouTube and Facebook pages to ensure wider accessibility for those unable to attend in person.

Eid Festivities and Bazaars

Alongside religious observances, numerous celebrations and community events will take place across Texas, offering a mix of cultural and social experiences for families and friends.

In Houston, the much-anticipated Eid Block Party at 616 Gregg Street will feature food stalls, games, and vendors selling traditional and modern Eid gifts. The event aims to create a festive atmosphere where families can celebrate together.

Another highlight in Houston is the Eid Celebration with Samer Murad, hosted at 2727 Fondren, Suite 4-B. This event, organized by Antika Houston, will feature performances by the renowned folk artist, adding a touch of cultural flair to the Eid festivities.

In Dallas, the Eid Bazaar at Sandman Signature Plano-Frisco Hotel will attract shoppers looking for the perfect Eid attire, jewelry, and gifts. Meanwhile, Frisco Flyers Center will host one of the biggest Eid bazaars in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, featuring a variety of vendors, food stalls, and entertainment options.

For those seeking a community-centered celebration, the ICF Eid Carnival 2025 at the Islamic Center of Frisco will offer a fun-filled day with carnival rides, activities, and entertainment, making it an ideal family-friendly event.

A Celebration of Faith and Community

Eid al-Fitr is a time for joy, gratitude, and giving back to the community. Many mosques and organizations across Texas are also arranging charity drives and community meals to ensure that everyone, regardless of financial status, can partake in the celebrations.

With a variety of events catering to all age groups and interests, Texas’ Muslim community is set to mark Eid al-Fitr with deep spirituality and a strong sense of togetherness. As final preparations are underway, families are looking forward to a day filled with prayer, festivity, and cherished moments with loved ones.
