Emergency Response

IRUSA has been responding to emergencies across the country for more than a decade. Since 2011, DMT has responded to more than 50 disasters. When Hurricane Helene made landfall in Florida in September 2024, IRUSA responded immediately – deploying staff and volunteers to perform muck outs of damaged homes.

While issues related to the delivery of humanitarian aid persist, IRUSA partners are continuing to work on the following interventions:

  • Food parcels from local Gaza farmers for displaced families
  • Hygiene kits for shelter residents
  • Medical supplies for Hayfa, Al-Awda & Al-Ahli Arab hospitals
  • Mobile clinic access for 23,400 shelter residents
  • Trauma care for 4,000-5,000 people
  • Winter aid: blankets, mattresses & clothing

Food Aid

The vision at IRUSA is a world free of poverty – and hunger is deeply intertwined with poverty. More than enough food is produced around the world to feed the global population.  However, more than 44 million people in the US are food insecure, forced to turn to food banks, food pantries, and community organizations to help feed their families.

Food aid is the largest sector of IRUSA’s humanitarian aid. Our food aid programs range from worldwide distribution during the Ramadan and Qurbani seasons to mobilized deliveries right here at home. Across the globe, we’re working hard to make sure that our neighbors have enough to eat.

Crowdfunding for Businesses

Islamic Relief USA (IRUSA) is a nonprofit humanitarian organization dedicated to providing aid and sustainable development programs worldwide. One of its key initiatives is microfinance, which empowers individuals and small businesses by offering interest-free loans and financial support to promote self-sufficiency. Through crowdfunding efforts, IRUSA helps entrepreneurs, especially in underserved communities, access capital to start or expand their businesses. These programs align with Islamic principles of social justice and economic empowerment, ensuring that vulnerable populations can build stable livelihoods and break the cycle of poverty.
